Lab Life Shop is operated by 17606656 Canada Inc., a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

What We Collect

When you place an order:

• Name, email address, shipping address, phone number (if provided)
• Payment information (processed securely by Shopify Payments or PayPal — we never see or store your full card number)
• Order history

When you browse our store:

• Device and browser information, IP address, pages visited (via cookies and similar technologies)
• This helps us understand how the store is used and improve it

When you join our newsletter or complete our survey:

• Email address, and any information you voluntarily share (your dog's name, photos, preferences)

Why We Collect It

• To fulfill and ship your orders
• To communicate about your order (confirmations, tracking, support)
• To send marketing emails only if you've opted in — every email includes a one-click unsubscribe
• To improve our store, products, and customer experience
• To meet our legal and tax obligations as a Canadian corporation

Who We Share It With

We share personal information only with service providers necessary to run the store:

• Shopify — our e-commerce platform (hosts the store and processes checkout)
• Payment processors — Shopify Payments, PayPal (payment processing only)
• Fulfillment partners — Printful, Printify, and shipping carriers receive your name and shipping address to produce and deliver your order
• Email service — Klaviyo (only if you've subscribed to our newsletter)

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever. Bailey would not permit it.

Cookies

Our store uses cookies for essential functions (cart, checkout, login) and analytics (understanding site traffic). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent checkout from functioning.

Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to:

• Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or its use for targeted advertising — we do not sell your data and do not currently use cross-site targeted advertising, but this right applies if that changes
• Have us honour a Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signal automatically, if your browser sends one

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request, and you may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf (we may still require you to verify your identity directly with us).

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@lablifeshop.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with your local privacy regulator (in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner).

Data Retention

We retain order information for 7 years as required by Canadian tax law (CRA requirements). Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe. Survey submissions are retained until you request deletion.

Children's Privacy

Our store is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Storage & International Transfers

Our service providers (Shopify, Klaviyo, Printful, Printify) may store and process data on servers located outside Canada, including the United States. By using our store, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in these jurisdictions under their applicable laws. We rely on our service providers' own compliance safeguards for these transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will always reflect the current version. Material changes will be announced on this page.
